Only a Stranger Productions - Professional Christian Theatre was founded as an outreach to the community and a haven to the saints offering professional Christian entertainment to encourage, enlighten and inspire.  Our vision is to jump off the more beaten path of Christian drama, and boldly go where no Christian Theatre company has gone before...and live to tell about it.  We hope you will join us on the journey!

Strange Name

When an actor portrays a character in a play, suddenly he becomes another person. He becomes a stranger. Yet, as "strange" as this character may be, somehow we as an audience are intrigued to know more. A stranger unlocks another door; a door that could lead us anywhere.

When David was afraid that others might learn of his identity he protected himself by becoming a stranger. "He acted like a madman" and so effectively that the king thought him to be insane and expelled him from his presence (1 Samuel 21:10-15). Jesus, the Master of all, was also the Master Thespian of men. Who else could appear to his own mourners and be considered "only a stranger"? (Lk.24:18 KJV) Yet, in that same passage of Luke 24:13-35, we learn that "Jesus acted" (v.28) like a stranger so that he could draw out the hearts of his followers to test and build their faith.

In the same Spirit, we at Only a Stranger Productions hope to emulate the great Master and the "man after his own heart" and create productions that transport people through space and time to a place where their hearts can be opened and revealed before the Lord. Though we may only be "aliens and strangers on earth" (Heb 11:13), we are all God's children, known and loved by him. So, go ahead... BE a stranger in this world, but be a friend to God. Please, come and be our guest as we journey closer to Him!
