NEW CHRISTIAN SHOWS
OAS Productions is always seeking new works for its current and
upcoming seasons! If you are a Christian playwright who would like
to get your work performed for the Lord and be compensated for it,
then you've come to the right place.
Currently we
are seeking:
- Christian
Plays You Won't See at Church
- Christian
Plays That Deal with Current Events (Pop Culture, News,
etc.)
- Christian
Plays You Might Not Know Are "Christian" (ex.
Les Miserables, Star Wars, The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Chronicles
of Narnia, Wicked, etc.)
- Christian
Comedy Shows & "Saturday Night Live" Style Segments
- Christian
Musicals (ex. "Godspell", "Joseph...Technicolor"
as well as those less obviously Christian)
- Anything Else
You Can Think of That's Fresh & Exciting!
Playwright Compensation:
We believe "the worker deserves his wages" (Luke 10:7,
1 Timothy 5:18). So, we make every effort to compensate individuals
involved with OAS Productions. Currently everything we produce is
"commission based" meaning we give everyone involved in
the production, including playwrights, a share of the box office.
We typically seek plays that are royalty/license FREE or from Christian
playwrights who find this method of compensation agreeable so we
can put what little front money we have directly into other aspects
of production including theatre/space rental, sets, props, costumes,
advertising, etc. In the long run, those involved usually earn more
this way because we are able to run our productions longer yielding
greater commissions (more performances=more revenue). Not to mention
the recognition that comes from having your play run for 1-2 months
vs. 1-2 performances and, of course, the satisfaction of making
a greater impact on the world for Jesus Christ!
